Today, I was browsing around the focus on the family website and I came across this article http://www.focusonthefamily.com/parenting/articles/let_your_kids_fail.aspx. In today's culture, it has become a common practice for us to overly protect children from their mistakes and the natural consequences that they bring. It's important for us as parents, mentors, and friends to allow children to fail sometimes because it builds a deeper sense of responsibility and resilience. Two of the most important qualities that should be developed in childhood as opposed to adulthood are responsibility and responsible. As is discussed in this article, the older your child get, the higher the stakes of the game. Don't wait until it's too late to teach your children resilience and responsibility by allowing them to fail.
In Christ,
Richie
